Welcome to our December newsletter
We’re turning 20!
Please join us on Saturday 16 December in Mansfield’s main street from 10 am to 2 pm as we celebrate 20 years of continuous 24/7 broadcasting.
There will be live music and a great atmosphere. Meet your favourite presenter, grab a bite of lunch from our friends at The Third Hand, and go in the draw for our fabulous raffle prizes. We look forward to celebrating this milestone in style!
Replacement OB van
Our old outside broadcast (OB) van has served us well, including being our home between the 2014 fire at our High Street Café Connect studios, and the completion of our new studios at Bank Place.
Say hello to our new van, ready to be kitted out and decorated with the Radio Mansfield logo.
Your emergency broadcaster
Remember that Radio Mansfield 99.7 FM is your local emergency broadcaster.
There are few easy ways to be prepared for an emergency – and one of them is to stay connected to Radio Mansfield 99.7FM, your local source of emergency information.
Keep a battery powered radio in your household emergency kit so that you can tune into our broadcasts.
Listen in on the car radio, or stream our programs and emergency notices on the website at www.radiomansfield.org.au
Read more on our Emergency info page.
With help from a number of local organisations such as the Lions Club, we’re well on our way to completing new transmitters at Tolmie and Frenchman’s Gap, extending our reach.
These new initiatives will help us be heard more clearly by more listeners – and also extend our emergency broadcasting coverage.
Community fund grant application
We have applied for a matched community grant from the Mansfield Shire, to allow us to purchase a Wi Fi link between the studio and The Paps. This allows to continuous broadcasting continuously even if our studio transmitter fails, and as it is a two-way feed we can use it monitor our equipment including the generator.
New presenters and a farewell
A warm welcome to new presenters Miss B and Hans-Peter Lang.
Miss B is on air on Tuesdays from 2 pm to 4 pm with her show featuring topics of interest to our local community and beyond, and a great range of music. Check out Miss B on Facebook.
Hans-Peter Lang presents two hours from 4 pm to 6 pm on Thursdays, with light music.
Thanks to Brendan Dalton for many years of specialist music with his show Celtic Journey. We will miss you as you head down the highway to Melbourne.
Young presenters wanted
We’re always keen to hear from new presenters, and we would love to get some more young people on air.
Why not team up with a couple of friends and present a show together, broadcasting the music you like and covering topics of interest to the younger people in our community.
Talk to us about how to get involved! Contact us on our Facebook page, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
